Experienced Clinical Psychologist, CBT Therapist
and National Trainer in Mental Health
Lisa is a HCPC registered Psychologist in Forensic and Clinical. She is also a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. She has 20 years’ experience as a clinician and an academic and worked within child mental health and adult services, where she has provided assessment, interventions and supervision in both the NHS and private sector.
Lisa held a senior clinical position with Leicester CAMHS and worked as the Clinical Lead and Principal Psychologist for a national psychology service providing consultancy, training and therapeutic input to children residential homes and schools. She was responsible for the clinical oversight of the psychologists who worked there. Lisa worked for the University of Leicester for 16 years, as a Researcher and Lecturer in Child Mental Health/Psychology. She is published in peer reviewed journals. In 2017, the Department of Education commissioned her to provide clinical oversight for a research project on mental health in schools. Lisa managed the CAMHS Multi-Agency Training Service at the Greenwood Institute of Child Health (2005 to 2017) on behalf of LLR NHS and local authority services. She provided consultation and development of targeted training for agencies, who require specialised training in child mental health around the Country. Lisa has been actively involved in enhancing CBT skills for practitioners across the region and was commissioned to develop and deliverer training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for front-line services as part of local IAPT provision. Lisa has continued to deliver training and consultation to voluntary and statutory services in CBT for children and adolescents Lisa has supervised trainee CBT therapists and qualified clinicians across the region for over 7 years. Commissioned by CAMHS services in Leicester, Derby and Nottingham. She is actively involved with Derby University and works as an a Senior Lecturer and Programme Lead for CYP IAPT supervisors course. Lisa also provides clinical supervision to well-being practitioners employed in Colleges. Lisa is a national trainer in child mental health and has successfully developed and delivered training nationally to help promote children's mental health and enable staff in schools, social care and health, police, voluntary agencies, youth offending teams and many other sectors to respond to mental health problems. Being a professionally qualified and experienced Psychologist, means she has genuine clinical experience of working with young people with mental health problems She has been involved in developing a training package for schools across Yorkshire. She has presented at national conferences on child mental health for front line services and developed workshops for University of Leicester and Leicester City Council.
